u know ive heard this 'there has to be a point to your photographs' in an annoying limey accent my whole life, but no one has ever really proved that to me. ive taken plenty of shity fotos of things that are meaning full to me, things that are not, and ive taken quite a few great fotos of things i don't really have a conection to, a point to photograph. to be honest, i think it is all just random. yrears of art degrees, time fotographing. u just point a box at something, hit a button, and hope for the best. i guess if it aint working u can make a utube vid about it.

I love street photography and I am also a concert photographer. Lately I am using auto iso in the M setting. As long as the exposure and shutter speed are set correctly, it hardly matters anymore how high your ISO is. I also often get away with photos of ISO 12,500. I shoot Sony for my concert photography and use Fuji for my travel and street photography.

For the compressed vs lossless compressed, speaking for the x t 30 ii, (my recently aquired xpro2 doesnt have lossy): i dont use fuji for high end editing studio/session work, but I do edit a lot some of my shots, including pushing shadows, dodge&burning, etc... most of the time with high iso's, and to be honest, cant see a difference at all. But then again, i dont use this kit for extreme color or sharpenning treatment

Great video Gareth. I’ve only got a normal iPhone 15 but with 48mp I can overcome the crop issue. I’ll be taking it to London next Sunday for a 3 day solo photo shoot. I am wondering what case that is you have as I couldn’t see it listed. Also, it seems that with burst mode, the camera doesn’t focus for every shot, only the first which is a real bugbear. Ps- great images and I especially loved the abstract car type shot.

18-50mm APSC is equivalent to 27-82.5mm in full frame ! 18mm PSC eq 27mm FF. You do not need "everything" to be sharp, just get the focus at the point you think is the most interest. I have done "street" photography since 1979, at that time it was not called "street" photography. There is really no right or wrong prime Lens for "street" photography, that said, for me 28mm and 50mm full frame prime lenses always feels either too short or too long, so for med 28 and 50mm lenses does not work for any kind of photography in full frame. The prime Lenses that I use are 14, 21, 24, 35, 55, 65, 85, 110 and 135mm Lenses. I can go with just one Camera and one Lens, then I will say that a 35mm have a "sweet spot" for "everything", but I have also used just 14, 24, 55, 60 and 65mm prime Lenses as a single prime Lens. Now I most often use two Cameras with two or three Lenses, a wide angle Lens on one Camera and a short tele on the other Camera, I carry always one Camera in my hand and the other in a small shoulder/sling bag. the last 3 times I did "street" photography was the set 21 and 55mm, 14, 35 and 85, 35 and 85mm Lenses, I use 61 megapixels Cameras, so sometimes I use APSC mode with 26 megapixels which often is enough, so I see my two Cameras as four Cameras and two Lenses as four Lenses.

I've only been following you for a few months, but I think this is probably your most inspirational video that I've seen. "Unless you're really good and come back with ten images..." - That statement, right there has lifted my spirits like you wouldn't believe. I've long had an interest in street photography but only this year have I done anything about it. I bought an OM System TG7 - which is a great little camera, but has its limitations. In hindsight I wish I'd gone for something like a Fujifilm, but that in itself I take as a positive because it has made me work harder to get a decent image. Since beginning street photography I find myself looking for images wherever I go, it really has kick-started my imagination and helped my creativity. I'm thinking of pitching my images to bloggers, vloggers and content writers. I have set up a page on Picfair for them to download - do you have any tips as to whether this is worthwhile? Sorry to hear things have been stressful for you, like everything in life, this too shall pass. Thanks again, Gareth. I shall be downloading your zine later today.

To me the reason to get both 27mm and 75mm 1.2 is a dream come true because I was a medium format photographer for years and these are the only lenses that provide the same look on a smaller sensor. Obviously it isn’t meant to track moving subjects but these are excellent primes for portraits, journalism, concerts, and art photography

I have found in 9 years of landscape photography that not only the improvement in the images, but your editing skills also evolve over time. I look back at old images and think really. I shoot landscapes now, more with prime lenses and I feel it has improved my composition skills no end. Set yourself a challenge to set your zoom lens, if no prime, to 1 focal length. Photography for me is a realease from the daily stresses of life. Get behind the lens and loose all concept of time. Bliss. Thank you Gareth for all you do to inspire people to get out there with camera in hand what ever the genre.
